The Liberal Democrats vow to protect Lydiard Park

The Council are not always the right people to run all services, but the last thing we need would be a private profit-making company taking over Lydiard House and Park.

Campaigner Toby Robson said, “Lydiard Park is important to Swindon and the Lib Dems have always campaigned to protect it. 10 years ago we successfully campaigned to stop people having to pay to park at Lydiard and we are against any plans that might emerge to give Lydiard to private profiteers.”

The Swindon Liberal Democrats have also opposed the proposition of car parking charges at the park as well as at Stanton Park, Coate Water Park and Barbury Castle as it would only discourage people from taking advantage of the fantastic green spaces in the local area.
