Fiona lives in Hinton Parva and previously worked across the country until taking early retirement to relocate closer her two daughters and three-year-old grandson. She is keenly aware of the difficulties faced by young people, and young families, living in rural areas, particularly relating to housing, employment, childcare and transport. Fiona says: After speaking to residents across the ward one issue has been raised again and again; the Conservatives are taking our villages for granted. I am fighting hard for local residents, calling for a bypass to be built around Wanborough to cater for the 2,200 houses due to be built near the village and for more investment in our rural bus services. The local Conservatives just follow the party line and its time we had a strong, independent voice for the villages.
